The writing process for this collection sought to recognise the diverse academic writing histories and experiences of ECP lecturers. It therefore wanted to provide a supportive, developmental and collaborative writing environment, while upholding the virtues of critical peer review. The development of the collection therefore took an overtly collaborative, collective form. Chapter authors had to commit to participating in activities and processes that encouraged critical peer review and communal approaches to writing.
